dress code By professionalism

Jenna,Your concern has caused a stir, but I think a good one. As long as you dress professionally, who cares what you have on underneath. In my area teachers have a tendency to dress more casual (jeans, nice sweaters, | khakis, button down blouses, etc.) the main reason is however, is due to the area we live in. I live out in the country and low income is the main type of family you come across. No one wants to intimadate a student by overdressing in this area because it does interfer with their learning. Now, I don't like to see teacher's wear jeans everyday, or sweatsuits at all. Like stated earlier | | there is a time and place to wear these types of clothes and school may not be one of them. If you district has a dress code, and more and more have them, and your style of dress matches the code, don't worry about it. I would much rather see someone with 3 or 4 ear rings in their ear than to see someone trying to teach with a mini skirt showing their butt or too thight pants that cut off circulation, or even a blouse that shows too much cleavage. And lets not forget men. They should dress professionally too. I'm not sure which post it was, but keep in mind, some people will wag their tongue about anything, today it's you, tomorrow it will be someone else.
