I believe stongly that a "mental health day" falls under a sick day b/c you need to be "well" in every aspect or you aren't good to your kids.
Regarding having the child with autism in your room. Remain firm on what you want. There might need to be a plan in place on when to remove him. You and the other students have rights too. Your classroom needs to be a positive environment for everyone and the other students are getting that. Also, you have a right not to be hit/kicked.
Get that special ed. teacher involved in his lessons. It's their job. Make a common planning time and meet once a week or as needed.
