"parents" By Tabitha

I have to say that so far this year most of my parents are great. I have had to talk to many of them since the beginning of the year. I do not tolerate disruptive behavior or lazy students. I call the parents when their child plays, doesn't do work, breaks the school code of conduct or my class code of conduct. I have three parents that annoy me the most. One does the homework for her daughter and always writes me notes asking if she needs to come in for a conference. The family has problems. The other makes excuses for their daughters lack or work or turning in work. They even think I am Russian! That | | was a good one. My last name is Italian and its my married name at that. The other parent doesn't bother to make sure that her son gets to school or refuses to push him to go to school so he misses at least two to three days of school a week. This is our eighth week of school so far mulitply that by two to three days a week and you can figure out that he is never in my class. I already had one parent say I was mean and wanted her child removed from my room. My principle refused to do so because he knows that I am not, but I am a tough teacher that expects her students to work together to learn and not misbehave. So as you can see I know exactly what you mean about parents. I really can't complain to much. Most of the other parents, that would be 19 out of the 23 fifth graders, I have are pretty cool. I just go with the flow and if I feel like I am being blamed then I go to my principle and he deals with them. Just keep you head held high and remember that we are there for the kids!
