Hi JJ,

Where are you located?

I've been teaching 4th grade for the past 4yrs.
In New York we are instructed by the District Office as to which genres to teach each month.

Here are a few: Fairy tale, Folktale, Fable, Myth, Legend, Historical Fiction, Biography, Article, Poetry, Science Fiction and my favorite Fantasy.

You can be sure that they are exposed to each genre by building your class library and classifying the books according to genres
