I'm not sure how many students you have, but the words United States of America have 21 letters. If you wrote an acrostic poem using one letter to start each line the students could each recite one line of the poem about America. If you have more students you could work in pairs, add a narrator to introduce or add a song before or after. Many lst graders may not know our countries full name and this would be one way to teach it.
