multicultural classes

Didn't you take a multicultural class to get an AK teaching certificate? or are you on a waiver and still need to take the class? Either way it sounds like you need some good assistance from people familiar with teaching| in the bush. The University of AK Southeast offers a good distance education class, they are accessible via their web site. Perhaps someone there can hook you up with the instructors who can offer some guidance and resources. In Juneau there's also the Professional Education Center, they have useful courses and resources. who has written extensively about Native villages and education. Keep on searching out help, village politics can be difficult for Outside teachers, you are doing the right thing in searching assistance!
