I have to agree with the last two posts. I was in a situation much like you were in. It was a small town, and I was much younger than the majority of the teachers and most of them had a negative attitude. I don't think
it had to do with age though. In that school it was a lack of positive leadership. I think it also has a lot to do with being in a small town with nothing better to do than complain. Now I live in a suburb of one of the largest cities in the nation. It is soooo much better, much more professional. There are still a few with negative attitudes and approaches, but it is not nearly so
noticeable when the staff is around 30 instead of just 10. There will always be someone like that. Just don't let it rub off on you. I have a lot of older teachers now who I can talk to more than many my own age. I guess it's just all relative. Good luck.
