I have to agree with the last two posts. I was in a situation much like you were in. It was a small town, and I was much younger than the majority of the teachers and most of them had a negative attitude. I don't think| it had to do with age though. In that school it was a lack of positive leadership. I think it also has a lot to do with being in a small town with nothing better to do than complain. Now I live in a suburb of one of the largest cities in the nation. It is soooo much better, much more professional. There are still a few with negative attitudes and approaches, but it is not nearly so | | noticeable when the staff is around 30 instead of just 10. There will always be someone like that. Just don't let it rub off on you. I have a lot of older teachers now who I can talk to more than many my own age. I guess it's just all relative. Good luck.
