Clip to ScrapBook
I am not glad that you're feeling left out, however, I was glad that someone else has THE SAME STORY AS I DO!!
This is my second year teaching and I can honestly tell you that it sounds like you teach at my school. I
am 25, and like you, there aren't alot of teachers my age. Last year, my first year, I "felt" like the other teachers looked down on me. (At least teachers say hello to you as they pass).
I feel like I am very easy to get along with, but I just don't fit in any of the "cliques" that were formed years ago(sad but true).
I eat lunch with my other 2 colleagues. We sit at a little
round table. They will literally turn to face each other, back to me, and discuss decisions for our classes. They also love to talk about things that aren't very professional. Now, I admit, I don't contribute there. I have been upset for two years. It makes the day long and stressful. I love teaching the grade level I teach, but I am dying to get away from unprofessional, negative cliques and find professionals to work with.
Hope your situation gets better.
