I have 24 students. I have them divided into groups of less than 7 at any time. I meet with two groups a day for a GR lesson. The other groups work in literacy centers that are set up around the room. I have a sign-up chart so they can move independently through the centers. Examples of centers: DEAR, comprehension, vocabulary 1 and 2, poetry, handwriting, and writer's workshop. This allows me to engage every child, but still have GR with small groups.
