Clip to ScrapBook
Hi girls!
I love using picture books in conjuction with reaaing. Here's one example. I read aloud the Rainbow Fish by Marc Pfister. It's a great wisdom book about friendship. Anyway...The kids and I identify the various story element components (Character, plot, setting, etc.) I have ready a construction paper fish and on that fish we write out the story elements. The kids then go to the library, check out a book of their choice, identify the story elements and cleverly arrange them on a background that goes along with their story. It is hard to explain, can I just come and show you what we did? HaHa. I have tons of these types of activities if you're interested!
