I have a two pocket folder with Make-up Assignments written on the front. When a student is absent this folder is put on their desk. Any
papers, notes, or assignments go in the folder. At the end of the day I have an assignment sheet filled out of work that needs to be made up. When the student returns they keep the folder and return it whenever the work is completed. I usually allow a day for each day absent. I keep several folders ready in case more than one or two students are absent, and it takes a few days to get them back.All of my absentee folders are bright yellow.
