Another idea
By Amy Lee

Clip to ScrapBook
Dawn's comments were wonderful. Here is another idea. For some reason and you may be able to go to their website to see how but I receive free items including videos, teaching materials, etc. from the Postal Service.
A few years ago the U.S. Postal Service issued stamps about Classic Movie Monsters (Wolf Man, Phantom of the Opera, etc.). Again they give me materials to teach including cards about these Halloween monsters and the actors who played them. Well I develop an idea to teach adjectives. Students complete a worksheet with info. such as height, weight, distinctive features, education, talents,
etc. for their movie monster. Then based on the info. they use the help wanted ads to find a suitable job for their monster. In a paragraph they have to include descriptive info. about their monster plus the job for their monster including why the monster is suitable for this particular job. They really come up with cute ideas such as Phantom of the Opera as a music instructor, Frankstein as a construction worker, Wolf Man as a vet. assistant, Dracula as a blood bank employee, and the Mummy as a sewing machine operator. You can probably search the web for info. on these movie monsters. Good luck.
