goodby to student teacher

Hi! I, too, have my first student teacher. I will certainly miss her when she leaves me in December. We are going to have a "teacher shower" to say goodby. I will ask the students to bring in a small gift that she can use in her future classroom. I think she'll like it. I am also going to have my students make a book. Each student will have their own page. I'm going to have them finish this sentence and illustrate. (Mrs. S. will be a GREAT TEACHER because .....) It will be a great keepsake. I may, also, have the kids make a canvas bag with each students' thumbprint on it. They can then make a silly "creature" out of their print with a thin black marker. I'll write on it ...To "thum-body" SPECIAL. Hope these ideas help you.
