"Bad Days"
By Tabitha

Clip to ScrapBook
I know how you feel all the way. I also started the year off with delusions of gradure. I wasn't going to raise my voice I would just wait until they were quiet. However long it took them to get quiet was the time they owed
me off of recess. Well that lasted all about three days. I have three sever behavior problems in my class this year, most of my students read at a third grade level, and they don't even try to think through work or problems. I have had many of those days this year and we have only been in school for five weeks. I just play music in my room realy loud at the end of the day. Sit back, take
a deep breath, and thank God for getting me through it.
I have told my class in the morning to go out into the hall. We review what the morning procedures are and then they go back in and show me. If they can't show me I have one or two students go in and model for the class again. Then we do it again. This takes time, but they are finally getting the hang of what I want them to do. I read Harry Wongs book "The First Days of School" and I use alot of his procdures and practices this year. So far so good. I hope this helps. We are all in this together and it helps to have this wonderful web site to come to and realize this and get help.
Hang In There! Keep a smile on your face and a song in your heart always!!!
