some ideas...
By Krissy

Clip to ScrapBook
Someone posted the idea of using a bulletin board to keep track of which tables students have memorized. Cut out the different parts of an ice cream sundae: the dish, scoops of ice cream, chocolate topping, sprinkles, whipped
cream, a cherry, etc. For each group (1s, 2s, etc.) the students memorize, add the appropriate item. In the end, have a sundae party and let students who made it to the top create their own sundae.

I was thinking of doing the same idea, but with a pizza. Each student will have his/her own pizza and add ingredients as we go along. A class pizza party will celebrate the event

and give them a goal to reach for.

OR for the sportsminded put up ten large baseball gloves, one for each of the 1s, 2s, etc. Put the slogan "Caught Up In Multiplication!" Give each student a baseball and move their ball as they move up. In the end, let students earn an extra "special" recess time outdoors.

Also, maybe you could have each student buy a pack of index cards and make flash cards for studying at home.
