Skipping Grades...

It sounds like you are in a tough situation. I agree about not meeting alone. Perhaps this mother is trying to pressure you and wants to do it this way. Maybe you could offer to challenge her child with special projects, letting her do some work out of the 4th grade math text, etc. When I think of all the kids who CAN work above grade level and aren't skipped, it makes me wonder why her mother is sooo insistent about it. I guess there are appropriate situations for skipping grades, but I sure wish I could have skipped all of the college classes I found too "unchallenging" Keep us posted and best of luck to you.
