Journal Writing
By jem

Clip to ScrapBook
I have to say I am interested to hear the replies to this as well. In my class, I give them a topic for them to "write" about. I also write that topic on the board. My rules are they must write or draw something about the topic, and they must write the topic word or words. Today our topic was "lays eggs." They had to draw some animals that lay eggs and write the words "lays eggs." Some of my children write what I write, others who are not as advanced write it only partially. Other children attempt other words and letters they have assigned as their own representations of words. Some always write their names because they can be successful at that.
