literature activities-first grade By Donna

Here's a great activity to do with first graders (after you've read the story):
Have a book discussion including
Main characters-who were they?
setting-where does the story take place?
problem-what was the problem?
conclusion-how was the problem solved?
On a piece of chart paper, list the following pictorially:
Person
House
Question mark
the end
Discuss each element of the story using the above picture prompts and words to answer each....
