Totally understand what you're going through! With the help of some great co-workers, I'm trying these ideas: *Do the build-a-word lessons where you start with a word, change one or two letters to make different words. *I have a three ring circus in which there are three circles and I divide the students evenly into them. One circle is for reading with a partner, reading to the teacher, and reading alone. When I read with them, I read it first, then they read it with me, then they read it alone 2-3 times until they can read it fluently. We do a lot of choral reading as a class too. Hope something can help!
