negativity
By pjm

Clip to ScrapBook
Sarah I agree with you too much negativity can get old fast but I didn't read that as the theme of your first post...I believe you said you didn't feel part of the staff...out of it....and that you were the youngest and
wished you had a buddy your own age, that the old timers made you feel left out or not accepted....was I wrong? I was not saying negativity is good. I can't believe that EVERY teacher in your school is negative....I'm sure you can find some nice normal teachers in the building...I am one of the oldies and I am not sayin this as a put down to you nor do I mean to say you're feeling doesn't
matter however, it has been my experience that many new young teachers come into a building with a certain type of attitude and are somewhat unapproachable....they give off the impression to us oldies that they have been to the new and improved school of education and they are ready to fix the world's problems in education. I'm not saying you do this...just I have seen it on more than one occasion. If I were you I'd reflect upon what image I have been giving to my fellow teachers. I am assuming you are NOT doing this but you did ask for suggestions and I would say the very same thing to my own daughter if she were in your position so think of this as motherly advice and don't take it personally ok?
