Teaching Strategies
By Eudora Mascoll

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi, I am from Barbados and I teach 6-7 year olds . I use the integrated learning strategy which is most common in our country . Cooperative learning is also done and this is mainly in the areas of Mathematics Science and
Social Studies . This encourages teamwork while building the self esteem of the slower pupils.Project learning is also an integral part of our learning and this can encompass the whole range of subjects as well as integrated and cooperative learning . Sometimes it is necessary to use the teacher -lecture approach but this should comprise the bulk of your teaching . I would say that the
various methods may be employed as the need or situation arises and that no one way is "the" way . My pupils are benefitting tremendously from the various strategies employed .
