Suggestion
By Tracy

Clip to ScrapBook
I was just thumbing through last week's edition of Time For Kids and Persuasive Writing is one topic for the week. The issue they talk about is School uniforms? I do suggest that whatever topic you choose, it should be
something they can identify with which would give them more input. In my school we wear uniforms, I don't know if this applies to your school. However, I usually begin with a graphic organizer to help the children focus on the pros and cons of the topic. In addition, they list their reasons for each pro and con. When they begin writing, they have pretty much what they want to say. In
the first paragraph, they state their opinions. The second paragraph, they use support for their views (reasons), and in the third paragraph, they restate their opinions and end the essay. I hope I made it clear.
