I make sure that each student has a homework folder on his/her desk at all times. Any assigned work goes into it, along with a homework assignment sheet which I insist that they fill out as soon as I write the assignment on the board. This has helped me a great deal.If the child doesn't bring in his/her homework, I log it in my "red book." At the end of the week, I add to my weekly report to parents that the child has failed to complete x number of assignments. I think this helps a lot, too.
