Mardel 12 Pocket Chart = A Year of Files! By NeeCee
|
| I ordered 3 of the Mardel 12 pocket charts and then wondered how to use them.:o I decided set one up as a year-long filing system so I label it Aug to June, PT Finds, Other Ideas/Misc. Each day as I clean off my desk I am putting ONE copy of each handout, answer key, etc and filing it in that month. I add a post-it with anecdoctal comments about the docs to help me remember important info about using it. It is so easy to just add a few papers throughout the day to the Mardel pocket since I have not yet gotten around to setting up new files for my new grade level. At the end of the month I will just put file into my little two drawer file by my desk (which I will have a parent set up soon!)
So far this is working really well! I have every document I used for setting up student notebooks, mini offices, disclosures, etc. as well as my first day of school activities, parent newsletter, and lesson plans all in one location. Next year, I can use these and hit the ground running rather than pulling it all together from different files. I usually put stuff on a flash drive and start organizing from there but this year's computer glitches for the first two weeks of school have taught me to have a paper copy handy!
