Clip to ScrapBook
You might want to try spending one whole recess period "practicing" how the class will act at dismissal time. This will make a lot of them mad, but at the same time you can just tell them that if they do a nice job from
now on, it will be the last time you have to practice. And one chilling reminder that you will practice again the next day if they are not doing it right will probably keep the craziness down! Don't make empty threats- it is a ROUTINE that SHOULD be practiced if it is hard for them. I have my kids practice the morning routine and walking in the hallway if it ever gets too bad. They are
upset during that recess period, but it is very worth it and they don't want to lose recess again. It also depends on the grade I guess- I have 3rd. Good luck!
