Missing Homework
By Carol

Clip to ScrapBook
I think this is every teacher's headache. I'm still working on this issue but here's my 2 cents worth- I have a pink slip which is a HOMEWORK EXCUSE NOTE. I don't listen to the excuses anymore- if they don't have their work
they write down their excuse.(You can imagine!)I then have them take a clipboard and their homework with them to recess, lunch, and if they are still not done to PE. I also keep a daily chart and put a red slash mark through the days they don't do their work. It really helps to have it visible for the students and I save the notes for conferences with the parents. Every so often I have
a lunch party to reward the students who do their work. Repeat offenders are excluded from fun activities. For some children nothing seems to motivate them. I wonder if there is a PERFECT ANSWER to this ongoing problem.
