There are many different ways to fit it in, so it's really up to you. The way that works best for me is to have a Poem of the week. On Monday I introduce it, on Tuesday we look for the rhyming words and make a few more, on Wednesday we highlight our sight words, on Thursday we take turns reading it and on Friday they each read it to me and illustrate it in their poetry journals. Each day only takes 5 or so minutes. I will admit that sometimes I run out of time and I have to push it to finishing on Monday but it all works out somehow. :)
