My answer to videotaping the child and showing it to the parents is an unequivicable no. Remember that this child is their blood and joy. Your looking at the child from a diagnostic view, i.e., trying to help him/her. The parents will be looking at their child with strong feelings and emotions and might be very offended that their child was videotaped like a clip from Animal Planet. I would not even entertain the idea. But it is just my opinion....
