homeschooling

Clip to ScrapBook
I have read the above posts and am suprised. Most of the homeschooled children i meet or know are above grade level. Where I did research on homeschooling (Texas) homeschooling families had to meet certian requirements and
get an OK to homeschool. The parent who was teaching had to pass tests at each level before the parent could teach it. And children had to take Art, music and P.E. one day a week in a structrued program, either private lessons, a class or at a public school. If the children couldnt meet the required level they were denied homeschooling permission. so either these children were denied this
permission or the program they are in is not as strict or they did not do it through a program. (Also any child that wanteed a Highschool Diploma had to meet same requirements as in a school and had to be in the homeschooling program to recieve one). So If done correctly and children are exposed to enough social oppertunities then I see no cons aginst homeschooling.
