homeschooling

Clip to ScrapBook
I, too, am a teacher who has had several homeschoolers join my classroom. Similar characteristics could be attributed to these students as was discussed in previous posts. I have seen students ranging from no writing skills
(at the fifth grade level) and no social skills, all the way to over stimulation that causes bullying behavior. Most of all, I see parents who get upset at a teacher for trying to discipline their "angel" and pull them out to homeschool them. These "angels" always come back after one year at home due to parents' realization that it is actually work. They don't want to deal with their
"angels'" behavior anymore than a teacher does.
One more thing, why is it that in order to hold a professional position anywhere in the workplace it takes a person with a degree in that field, but anyone thinks they can teach because it is so easy? I wish they could see my class!
Okay, really, here's the last thing, I see some things going on in upper elementary that used to only go on in high school, so there is a good reason to homeschool if you don't want your child exposed to these things. (But it is no worse than what they see on tv)
