Veterans NEVER get sick!

In my first year I became sick, just a cold & flu. I kept working even though many of my students were also sick. I was also completing my graduate degee. I was so tired all of the time, but still showing up until one night when I found myself in the emergency room. I had bronchial pnuemonia, viral conjuctivitis, and dehydration. No one had even guessed that I was that sick until my sister called from the hospital. I think that staff and administration just take it for granted that we're like postal carriers, neither rain, sleet, or snow. This is my fourth year, and every year, I become sick. It goes with the new germs and the new stress. Take care of yourself. Michelle
