Find a Support Structure & Kill her with Kindness
By Diana

Clip to ScrapBook
Meg,
Look for people in your building to begin a support structure. I sought people out who taught with the same principles and methods that I did. They were and are my saving grace.

I also went out of my way to
be "sickening" sweet to my tormentor. I would smile brightly at her in the hallway, compliment her on how she looked or thank her for a "great" idea... even if it wasn't one. I'd give her winks and say pleasantly, "Have a great day!" On Mondays I would begin by stopping and saying, "How was your weekend?"

Don't wait for her to say anything to you... you be the first! It's hard, I

know! But I walked away each day, knowing that I had somehow gotten to "her" in my own little way. Plus... others could see that I wasn't going to let her get the best of me. I gained the respect and support from many of may fellow teachers. From that, I gained some incredible friends!
