Principal's Support
By Diana

Clip to ScrapBook
K,
In our school, a parent is allowed to walk his/her Kindergarten child to the classroom during the first 2 days of school. After that... no more. Granted, there are "special" situations where this does not apply, but it is a general rule. Talk with your principal. Have him/her in place at the entrance. The parent should be allowed to go no further than that.
It doesn't sound like there will be any "sound" reasoning with this parent. So point blank, there should be rules and parameters in place in order to keep her from being disruptive to your classroom.

I do hope you have the support of your principal. If not, seek out someone who serves as a teacher representative in your building.
Good Luck!
