I love the apple idea! Another thought is to ask parents for their time. Many businesses have classroom time donations. One company I know that participates is the phone company. Two years ago I had two moms who worked for the phone company in my classroom. By volunteering time in their child's room (putting parents in charge of bulletin boards is a great time saver!) their company gave $250.00 to my classroom for the parents donating their time at school. I had $500.00 extra that year to spend on supplies. Ask parents if their work sites have any classroom perks for their children's school.
