table
By Laura

Clip to ScrapBook
Is it possible for you to get tables instead of desks? You didn't mention what age of students you have, but if they're not too big, you could have them sit at tables, which leaves lots of extra room for moving around on
the floor for groups and stuff. Tables can present a problem about where the students books are kept, but if you're real creative, you'll find places in the room to convenently store the books until they are needed. The students would each need a pencil box to keep on top of the table. At least this way you could group the students easier, all they would have to do is grab their pencil
box to move.

Have you thought about giving up your desk to make more room? I know this sounds crazy, but often times a teacher doesn't even sit at her desk. I was always at the reading table, so I chucked the desk and became more organized. It's amazing how junk can collect in desk drawers, and how organized you have to become when you don't have drawers any more! Just a few thoughts.
