Don't Worry!
By Rebecca

Clip to ScrapBook
I hate that this happened to you in your first year teaching. Please don't let it get you down. You are in your first year teaching and this IS going to happen (even in your second, third....) Every lesson doesn't go as
planned. this is where our flexibility comes in and where we have a learning experience. We were just discussing things like this in one of my master's classes yesterday. You are just in the first stage and everything will not be perfect! I can also sympathize with you because I too teach in a low socioeconomic area of our town and I work with VERY low students. You are SO RIGHT!!!
Many professors think because it looks good on paper then it will work. NOT always! Many of them have never even taught in a classroom and I have no respect for them trying to telling YES it will work when they've never done it. Your lesson sounded great. You just have many low students.
He was VERY unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You never stop a teacher in the middle of a lesson and you sure don't criticize her/him in front of their students. My question is what was the point of you being asked to have someone from a university in your classroom? Is this normal practice for a first year teacher where you live? My principal evaluated me for the first three years before I got tenure. I only had someone from the university when I waws student teaching.
Anyway, don't let this get you down and DON"T think you are a bad teacher. You are a new teacher who is out there trying to make a difference! You are still learning. Keep up the good work!!
