    Clip to ScrapBook

I'm a different thinker on this one. Last year I switch out the stuff every couple of months and brought stuff back in if needed. I teach first grade and the kids enjoyed the change. I didn't feel and the assessment scores showed that they were not learning and focused on the work. New stuff just made it more exciting. Also, first graders have a tremendous amount of growth so at the beginning of the year they will use the rainbow markers and other easy stuff. At the end of they year they are able to use the scrabble word tiles and complete the math portion of it. I actually have a lot of stuff for word work which is probably why it was one of the favorite daily 5 choices. I'll give a list below and hopefully I won't y end of leaving stuff off.

    1. Rainbow markers/colored pencils
    2. Wiki Sticks
    3. Play Dough (at first they make the words from the play dough)
    4. stampers
    5. magnetic letters
    6. fun foam letters
    7. letters and pocket charts.
    8. white boards
    9. little magna doodles
    10 bingo dabbers
    11. alphabet lacers
    12. beads
    13. kids use a flip camera to film each other sorting their words in speed sorts
    14. sparkle words (work with sight words)
    15. Scrabble tiles

There's more but i just can't remember right now. But, as you can see I have a variety of stuff. I have 4 tubs and each tub has the same things in it. The kids take a tub and several use 1 at a table. It works for me.
