Teaching in SD
By Jennifer

Clip to ScrapBook
I need to clarify some information about teaching in SD. Salary is NOT based upon class size. I am fortunate to have a small class; however, not every school in SD has such small classes. It depends entirely on the location of the school district. My school is located in rural eastern SD. It is also a consolidated school district with two buildings in two different small towns. The two towns are 25 miles apart. The school board in my district has chosen to keep a seperate K, 1, and 2 grade at each location. However, the classes are combined 3 through 12 grades. We also run shuttle buses between the two sites to transport kids to the appropriate building.
