I reread...
By Lisa

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 4th, and I have my kids read our stories twice. First we do it whole group, either with me reading, a tape, or the kids reading. That way they may not remember small details, and didn't have to struggle with hard words, but understood the story. The next day I have them reread individually or in partners. That time I know they're catchign the details. So far it's working! My class is also overall on the low side. If you feel like your students don't need more than one reading, don't waste their time, but it might help your lower readers.
