Rev. War novels
By Allison

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! For the last three years, I have read My Brother Sam is Dead with my fifth grade classes in our study of the revolutionary war. It is a great book to help students understand life during the war, the historical accuracy is fantastic, and they can't wait to read the next chapter. In fact, most students say it is the best book we read all year! The only problem that may arise is some inappropriate langauage issues, but I solved that by reading most of the book to the class (like Johnny Tremain, it is a pretty challenging book). There is a TCM literature unit for this book as well. Good luck, and enjoy!
