Rev. War Novels
By Tanya

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Ilaina,
Last year I read Johnny Tremain with my class. It was a tough read, so we wound up reading the whole book together in class (the vocab. is a bit difficult and some parts need good explanation). It is a GREAT book- details the life of Johnny, a 12 yr. old silversmith apprentice in Boston during the Tea Party and Paul Revere's ride. They really got into the book, and loved it. If they had read it by themselves (which the teacher before me did) they would have hated it (like all her classes). There is a novel unit available to go along with the book (by Teacher Created Materials I think) that has some great activities.
Also, I haven't read this, but I heard My Brother Sam is Dead is a great book.
Good luck!
