Speling ideas

Hi Laurie,I have a year 1 class in England. When we do spelling first we introduce the words, clap the word out (every letter gets one clap)
Next day we write them out in alphabetical order then we play games and on thursday we play a special game with the whole class. You have four groups about 4-5 in each group depending on your class and they set in rows infront of you. You ask the first group to spell "that" each child must spell only one word when the word is done the next child says the word. For example. "that" T..h..a...t...that. first childs says t, second says h and so on...
