transitions that I use

Here are a few transitions that I use. I teach third grade and they work just fine for them. I call for birthdays (mixing up the months)or odd/even months, what they are wearing (blue jeans, red shirt, etc.), tallest to shortest or vice versa(they have to line up this way without talking), by groups, # of pets, and their ALL time favorite(which takes a little longer) the Banana Fanna song. I have also issued a number to each student at the beginning of the year (going in alphabetical order) and call random numbers, even/odd, multiples of three, etc.
