Would it be possible to have some of the older students from your school who are the better students come in during your reading time and listen to your students read?

I also have five reading groups with 45 minutes to
do all the groups. I asked for some of the older students (kids from the 7th/8th grade) to come into my room and listen to students read. So far it is working out pretty good. This is what I do..

Monday: I listen to the med/high group while helpers listen to the other groups.

Tuesday: I listen to/work with the medium group while the helpers listen to the other groups.

Wednesday:

I listen to the high group...

Thursday: I listen to my medium/low group...

Friday: I listen to my low group... I also have these students come up to my desk and read one/two pages to me each day whenever I get the change. It seems to really help them to get to read one on one with the older students.
