5th Grade Rev. War
By Suzanne

Clip to ScrapBook
I have some great suggestions that have really worked in my 5th grade class. A novel my kids really enjoyed was "George Washington's Socks" (I cannot remember the author, but I think it's published by Scholastic). It is about a group of ten year olds on a camp-out who mysteriously time travel into Washington crossing the Delaware. It is PERFECT!

I also HIGHLY recommend "The Winter of Red Snow". It is a "Dear America" book also published by Scholastic. It discusses the difficult winter at Valley Forge. The great thing about this is that it is also a movie. It is on HBO periodically and available at most public libraries. It is a half hour long and made just for children. It really shows the hardships in an appropriate way.

I hope this helps!
