Grading and Record Keeping
By Christina

Clip to ScrapBook
I don't "grade" homework because I am not really interested in what parents know. I keep up with who has done the assignment, but I don't give a traditional grade. I teach the lesson, engage in guided practice, give independent practice, and then give something that I take a grade on. All of this practice gives me a chance to see who needs additional help with a concept. I use peer tutoring, group work, and I assist with any reteaching that needs to be done.

I have a red stamp that says "Recorded in Grade Book" so the parents know which paper has been for practice and which is for a grade. This has been the best 12 dollar investment that I have made recently. I ordered it from the local printing company.
