Literacy Centers

Hi ! I am a new second grade teacher too. I have been in school for four weeks and this is what I am doing for my literacy block. While I work with the guided reading groups I have the kids do literacy centers. I usually have 4-5 centers or activities for them to do while I am working with a group. Some of the activities that we do is partner reading, computer, library time, seatwork,puzzles, critical thinking cards and many many more. I try to make sure that all the activities involve some kind of language arts activity like spelling, reading or writing.
Oh and I set up my groups and activities on a task board.
