multiplication facts
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach fifth grade, but I have taught fourth, too. One activity you can do is post a bulletin board especially for multiplication facts. I put a child's name on a baseball glove cutout and posted it on the board. The heading was "Look How We've Scored!" I start out by having the children take a 2s test. If they pass it, then they get a small sticker on their baseball glove. Then they take the 3s test. Another sticker if they pass. Then the 4s, etc. They love to watch their progress and fill up their baseball glove. The final big test is the mixed up test where they have to answer any combination of facts. They get the biggest sticker for that, plus a winning-the-game certificate is posted by their glove.
