Multiculturalism
By Vickie

Clip to ScrapBook
Thank you for asking this question because it's one I've been thinking about also. Our next school wide theme is "multicultural." In my opinion, I want to focus on diversity(race, class, ethnicity, etc) in America, and to talk about the struggles and contributions that various groups have made. It kind of seems like you have to build your own unit, I am always looking for good literature to use either in my reading lessons or in read-alouds. This is only my second year of teaching so I have a long way to go. Now, alot of teachers seem to focus on an international theme during the multicultural unit.
I too would like to hear other opinions on this topic.
