Sometimes after I have introduced an idea, I will give one large piece of paper to each cooperative group of 4-5 people. Together they try to list as many synonym or antonym pairs they can think of. The "two heads are better than one" idea. Then I hang them in the room for a while for reference or type them up to put in their writing folders.
